LENEXA, Kansas (August 07, 2008)– John Deere introduces the new, mid-duty MX15 Rotary Cutter specifically designed for pasture care management.

"This cutter is a great addition to the existing rotary cutter family," says Roman Kruczynski, marketing representative, John Deere Welland Works. "The MX15 flex-wing rotary cutter is ideal for farms, ranches, and large properties with pasture ground that need to be maintained with a higher quality cut. This 15-foot cutter is competitively priced and designed to work efficiently with lower horsepower utility tractors."

The MX15 features durable gearboxes and drivelines to cut through materials up to two inches in diameter. It's a strong, light-weight, flex-wing cutter that features a high blade tip speed and leaves a high-quality cut for pastures, acreages, and large lawns. It is specifically designed for equestrian operations which need to manage pastures and improve grazing quality.

"We've designed the MX15 cutter so that it's easy to operate, transport, and service," says Kruczynski. "During operation, the wings flex up-to 45 degrees above horizontal and 22 degrees below horizontal for a consistent, smooth cut – even in contoured or uneven ground conditions. The flex-wings also easily fold up to a 90 degree angle for excellent transport and maneuverability."

The MX15 is designed to work well with lower horsepower utility tractors. The lighter weight makes transporting and maneuvering easier which also results in a more fuel efficient package to help reduce operating costs.

"Finally, the MX15 Rotary Cutter works exceptionally well with the new 5E Limited Mechanical-Front-Wheel-Drive (MFWD) tractor with the economy PTO setting," concludes Kruczynski. "The combination of weight, horsepower, tread width, and drawbar strength make for an elite package. And, with the economy PTO setting, provides a fuel savings up to 19 percent.
