Companies Offer Green Start Academy for Assistant Superintendents
|
Cary, N.C. (June 21, 2006) — Providing an opportunity for assistant superintendents to advance their careers, John Deere and Bayer Environmental Science introduce the first Green Start Academy. A two-day educational and networking event, Green Start Academy offers an opportunity for assistants to further their careers by learning about best management practices and innovative products, meeting industry experts and networking with peers.
Any assistant superintendent can apply to attend Green Start Academy by being nominated by their superintendent and submitting an essay. Essays will be judged by a panel of industry experts including: Cal Roth of the PGA TOUR, Bryan Bielecki of Billy Casper Golf, Dean Graves, CGCS of Chevy Chase Club, Ken Mangum, CGCS of Atlanta Athletic Club, Bob Farren, CGCS of Pinehurst Country Club and Bruce Williams, CGCS of Los Angeles Country Club. A maximum of 50 winners will be selected to attend the well-anticipated event.
Winners will attend Green Start Academy September 27-28, 2006, held in North Carolina at the Bayer Environmental Science Training and Development Center in Clayton and John Deere's Turf Care factory in Fuquay Varina. Over the two-day period, attendees will attend education sessions, a tour of the John Deere factory and an evening of dinner and entertainment.
