JOHN DEERE TECHNOLOGY CENTER — INDIA INAUGURATED

MOLINE, IL (January 11, 2006) — Deere & Company today inaugurated the John Deere Technology Center - India located in Magarpatta City, Pune. The center will provide services in the areas of information technology, engineering, supply management, embedded systems and technical authoring for the company's operations worldwide.

Speaking at today's inaugural event, Nate Jones, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Deere & Company, said, "John Deere's mission is to build a business as great as its products and we're now focusing on growing that business around the world. We are confident that our investment in this Technology Center will not only support John Deere's global growth strategy, but extend our capacity for information technology and engineering services in a productive manner." Several senior John Deere officials from around the world attended the event.

The John Deere Technology Center - India will contribute towards extending John Deere's leadership in providing innovative products and services to the markets served by the company. Approximately 200 people are employed at the Center.

The Indian operations of Deere & Company include John Deere Equipment Private Limited, in Sanaswadi, near Pune. The facility manufactures transmissions and diesel engines and also builds the familiar green and yellow John Deere tractors for customers in India and around the world.
