Employees Organize Children's Health Camp in India
(April 08, 2008) – Children in Sanaswadi, India may be a bit healthier thanks to John Deere. Employees from nearby John Deere Equipment Private Limited recently organized a health camp for students from area schools.
During the four-day camp, nearly 1,600 children were screened for illnesses and taught about healthy lifestyles by a team of doctors and other medical professionals. No major health problems were found.
Employees from John Deere Equipment Private Limited in Sanaswadi, near Pune, planned the camp as part of their corporate social responsibility team's focus on helping to provide quality education in a healthy environment to the students at schools near the factory. This initiative began with the donation of desks, tables, and chairs to the schools.
