Better productivity, more uptime - John Deere 1110D Eco III forwarder

John Deere is introducing the new John Deere 1110D Eco III forwarder at METKO. The new John Deere1110D Eco III is equipped with the same Tier 3 emissions-compliant John Deere PowerTech Plus™ engine as the previously introduced John Deere 1270D and 1470D Eco III harvesters. Serial production of the John Deere 1070D Eco III harvester will begin in the near future.

New John Deere 1110D Eco III forwarder

The new 1110D Eco III forwarder is equipped with the following innovative Eco III features: automatic work RPMs, EcoDrive and improved cooling capacity for hydraulics.

Automatic work RPMs. The engine's work RPMs are automatically lowered to idle if the boom is not used within the set time. The RPMs automatically increase once the work is resumed.

New EcoDrive. EcoDrive is a new software feature that optimizes the engine's RPMs with a hydrostatic transmission ratio to achieve the desired vehicle speed at the lowest possible RPMs. EcoDrive can be used in both slow and fast driving conditions. EcoDrive automatically engages in slow driving in the forest. EcoDrive can also be engaged during fast driving on level, easy terrain, like on a forest road. EcoDrive reduces noise levels and fuel consumption and thus daily operating costs.

Improved cooling capacity for hydraulics. In conjunction with the Eco III engine update, the honeycombs of the radiators for the engine, the hydraulics and the supercharger of the John Deere 1110D Eco III were enlarged. The radiator honeycombs have also been vertically positioned to even out the airflow through the different honeycombs. Consequently, the cooling capacity of the working hydraulics' radiator honeycomb has increased over 30 percent. This reduces the potential overheating of the work hydraulics and increases the forwarder's productivity and uptime also in warm conditions.

New John Deere 6068 PowerTech Plus engine

1110D Eco III model forwarder is equipped with the new John Deere 6068 PowerTech Plus engine. The new engine meets the strict Tier III emission regulations and offers best-in-class fuel economy with increased performance in the forest machines. The new engine has better transient response time than previous model with same excellent low speed torque and power output. The new engine also provides better durability to the main components in the engine.

Main modifications compared to the previous engine are:

- Cooled exhaust gas regulations (EGR) system
- Variable geometric turbocharger (VGT)
- 4-valve cylinder head
- Updated high-pressure common rail fuel system
- Electrically controlled viscous fan clutch
-  Improved engine diagnostics
