The John Deere 437C Knuckleboom Loader Delivers Fuel Sense

MOLINE, Ill. (May 18, 2006)—The John Deere 437C Knuckleboom Loader features load-sensing hydraulics that smartly adjust power to each load, resulting in much lower fuel consumption.

Customers have reported going as much as two and a half shifts on a tank of fuel, compared to only one shift on a competitive machine. That adds up to a lot of fuel savings and more productivity.

By automatically adjusting power to each load, the load-sensing hydraulics provide tailored power performance, as well as increasing machine life, and decreasing daily wear and tear.

Two variable displacement piston pumps increase the 437C’s uptime. The main and stick functions are separate from the swing functions, ensuring sufficient hydraulic flow. The hydraulic system features improved hose routing, ORS fittings, and pilot lines for increased efficiency. A bulkhead at the boom base makes the cylinder hoses shorter. This makes the hoses easier to change, increasing uptime and decreasing operating costs.

John Deere equipment is known for its comfortable cabs. And the 437C continues that tradition. It’s isolation mounted, which dramatically reduces noise levels. A new wraparound rear window and polycarbonate skylight optimize operator visibility. And standard pilot-operated joystick controls, deluxe adjustable seat, HVAC system, and an AM/FM/CD stereo system keeps the operator comfortable and more productive.

Improved access to a unified valve bank that is rubber mounted on the frame, not the cab floor, reduces noise and vibration. Swing-bearing mount features stronger bolts with loctited socket head cap screws that require only a visual inspection. That, along with improved access to the bearing bolts and hydraulic manifold, means less downtime.

John Deere (Deere & Company – NYSE:DE) is the world's leading manufacturer of agricultural and forestry equipment; a major manufacturer of construction equipment; and a leading supplier of equipment used in lawn, grounds and turf care. The company was founded in 1837. John Deere construction and forestry equipment is distributed through a network of more than 600 independent dealers worldwide.
