John Deere Forestry is meeting customer expectations with a high profile at FinnMETKO. The products being showcased aim to increase the productivity and overall economy of forest machine contracting. The offering of maintenance and spare part services maximizes forest machine uptime. Together these help our customers and us to succeed now and in the future.

John Deere Forestry's strong investments in customer service and in the production capacity of the Joensuu factory in Finland are very visible. In addition to new products, like the 970D harvester and the TimberLink software application, FinnMETKO will also showcase John Deere Forestry's fast-responding, straightforward and flexible service network as well as several new aftermarket services.

John Deere is bringing to FinnMETKO a comprehensive selection of products. The following new products and upgrades will make their debut:

• John Deere 970D ECO III - new, robust all-purpose harvester for thinnings
• TimberLink - performance and condition analysis system for harvesters
• ECO III engines - economical driving and automatic work RPMs
• John Deere PowerTech Plus™ engines
• HPC07 computer - faster mobile processor, Windows XP operating system
• hydraulic telescoping extensions (e.g. John Deere 1110D)
• concealed hoses for forwarders

Additionally, John Deere's simulator competition finals will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2006. The semifinals start at 10:45 a.m. and the finals at 2:00 p.m. The competition has separate categories for forest machine students and professionals.

Currently in second place in the World Championship for motorcycle racing, Mika Kallio will make a daily appearance at John Deere's exhibition tent. Fan memorabilia and Kallio's KTM race bike will also be on display.
