JDLink Machine Messenger customers can continue to contact the Customer Care Center 1-888-GRN-STAR for all of their support needs. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued a mandate to all wireless carriers that, as of 16 February 2008, "Analog Only" or AMPS signal is no longer required and regulated for each wireless communication company to provide. Verizon, our wireless provider for the AMPS signal in JDLink Machine Messenger, has announced they will discontinue offering their AMPS signal to customers in December 2007. Therefore, we are going to stop selling our current JDLink Machine Messenger system that utilizes the AMPS cellular signal and are focusing on developing a brand-new JDLink agricultural system with advanced features and functionality. We will have a transition program for all of our current JDLink Machine Messenger customers to advance into the next system.
There is a new JDLink in the John Deere family that is now available through the John Deere Construction & Forestry Dealers that we wanted to let you know about. JDLink- Machine Monitoring System-Standard (JDLink-MMS-Standard) is a new product that will provide you an opportunity to save time in managing your operation, your equipment and your operators. JDLink-MMS-Standard only requires a machine with a 12 or 24 volt power source to operate. With the JDLink-MMS-Standard system, you will be able to increase your efficiency by easily locating your machine online, with the capabilities to be notified when your machine moves inside or outside of a designated area, or started outside of normal working hours, providing protection for your machine from theft. With user-defined hour notifications, you or your dealer can have a virtual equipment manager letting you know when routine maintenance needs to be performed and allowing you the flexibility to schedule maintenance on your machine when it is convenient for you to keep it running at optimum performance when you need it most. This system can also be integrated into most Deere Dealer business systems to enable your dealer to provide enhanced service and support. JDLink Components
The JDLink System is comprised of a communications controller, cellular and gps antenna, and wiring harness. These components are all concealed under the cab roof of the tractor in an embedded installation and are externally installed when the Quick Install Kit is utilized.
