Mow Like Never Before: New Z-Trak Estate Series Zero-Turn Mowers (March 2008)

The Z-Trak Estate Series mowers have a top making it one of the quickest zero-turn mowers in the market today For some, mowing can be a time-consuming operation, especially if you’re staring at several acres of thick, lush grass. With only so many evening and weekend hours, making the most of your time is high on the priority list. You want to do a good job, but you also don’t want to be tied to a mower for half a day.

Mow at a faster clip. The solution may well be the new Z-Trak™ Estate Z500 Series from John Deere. These revolutionary new zero-turn mowers are geared towards customers who demand a bit more from a mowing machine. "When we conducted some consumer research, we found a whole host of large property owners who wanted something better than a residential grade machine, but didn’t want to pay the price of a professional unit," says Mark Pavcik, group product manager. "Add it all up and we decided it was a segment we could not ignore."

The Z-Trak Estate Series has features you won’t find on any other zero-turn mower. Start with the 7-Iron deck, made out of thick 7-gauge steel and stamped into perfect form, using 4 million pounds of pressure. The "Turn Key + 1" ignition means starting the machine is as easy as starting a car. There’s also a heavy-duty ground drive transmission, large displacement engines, and a 10-mph transport speed to get the job completed in as little time as possible.

But the Z-Trak Estate Z500 Series mowers have more going for them than just performance. "Comfort was definitely a priority when we designed these mowers," says Kim Ridel, tactical marketing manager.

Comfort comes standard. "That’s why we put in features like comfortable seats with arm rests, conveniently placed controls, and wide rear tires for a comfortable ride," Ridel continues. Customers also have the option of upgrading to a Comfort & Convenience package. Available on the Z520A, this package features large, ergonomically positioned grips on the control sticks to reduce fatigue, a push button deck raise, and a deck PTO kill switch for greater safety.

For those who have got a lot of grass to cut and want a mower that’s going to last for a good long time, the Z-Trak Estate Series mowers could be just the ride you’re looking for.
