70 Series Combines

70 Series Combines High-Octane Harvesting

(August 23, 2007) -

Growers who need the ultimate in harvest-ability need to look no further than the 70 Series STS Bullet Rotor Combines and 600C Standard and StalkMaster Chopping Corn Heads.

This powerful combination allows growers to harvest faster, easier, and with higher grain quality than with any combines we've ever produced.

70 Series STS Combines.
To start, each of the 70 Series models features a redesigned operator’s environment, now with the CommandCenter™ Display and CommandTouch™ Armrest Console. The customizable display is mounted on the armrest console, and provides the operator with precise, easy-to-use machine and crop information. The armrest provides a more operator-friendly layout, with common controls conveniently grouped for fast, easy access.

Back in the engine compartment, our two biggest combines–the 9770 STS and 9870 STS–both get a horsepower increase, bringing the 9770 STS to 360 HP, and the 9870 STS to 440 HP. Order the optional Intelligent Power Management system (standard on 9870 STS corn configuration), and the 9870 STS get a whopping 480 HP, more than enough to push the widest chopping header.

The 9870 STS also gets the CommandTouch™ Multi-Speed Feederhouse Drive System, which allows on-the-go shifting to any of the five distinct speeds to better allow the operator to match ground speed to the corn head’s gathering speed. Improvements like the front chaffer extension give the 9870 STS up to 15-percent higher cleaning capacity, while the 9870 STS and each of the other models get more aggressive sieve stroke for improved cleaning.

600C Standard and StalkMaster Chopping Corn Heads.
But the biggest news for corn growers is the introduction of the 600C and 600C StalkMaster Chopping Corn Heads. Available in 6-, 8-, and 12-row standard and chopping configurations, these heads feature a robust frame design, row units, and a variety of heavy-duty internal components, all designed to allow higher harvesting speeds, even in today's tougher, higher-yielding hybrids.
