Four John Deere innovations were awarded with two gold and and two silver medals at this year’s FIMA fair, the international agricultural equipment trade show in Zaragoza (Spain, 12-16 February). The newly designed 7030 E Premium tractor concept received a gold medal for its innovative approach to generate up to 20 kW of electrical power for the supply of key tractor components and for the use of external tools via 230 V and 400 V socket outlets. The new design helps to enhance the tractor’s fuel economy and will ultimately allow to operate implements, electrically instead of applying PTO or hydraulic power. The second gold medal went to the iTecPro system, the pinnacle in guidance solutions for integration of AutoTrac and IMS headland management for fully automated headland turns. Furthermore, the new AMS innovations for 800i sprayers ‘BoomTrac + SprayerPro’ and SPFH features ‘HarvestLab + AutoLoc’ were awarded silver medals, respectively. The gold medal awards were handed over by Marcelino Iglesias, President of the Autonomy Government and José Luis Mombiela, Director of Agriculture, to ag division Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Chris Wigger and to Esa Laensitalo, Director of Marketing. Subsequently, the two silver medals were presented to Germán Martínez, Sales Branch Manager of John Deere Iberica and to Carlos Aragonés, PLM for AMS solutions.
Prestigious awards for innovative concepts are raising a good deal of interest among customers and decision makers in all markets. Such recognitions reflect the capability of a supplier to provide customers with more productive and profitable solutions on their journey to meet the challenges of 21st century farming.
